Drag to look around · pick a tube
A body pinned to a concrete wall. Each organ is its own bare cathode-ray tube, hung roughly where it belongs and wired back to a perforated sternum. Each one is stuck in a four-frame loop that follows the organ's own rhythm: the heart cuts on the beat, the lungs wipe on the exhale, the gut never stops scrolling.
Made as a study after the video sculptures of Alan Rath (1959–2020), who taught picture tubes to behave like body parts. It borrows his vocabulary of exposed tubes, armatures and cable and is not a reproduction of any of his works.
The slide frames and surface textures were generated with Codex image generation. The hardware is modelled procedurally in three.js.
